"How Do I Become A Volunteer?"
It takes three simple steps!
Step 1: Fill Out The Application
Our Volunteer Application helps us get a feel for you, your interests, and your experience! Fill out the application by scanning the QR code or clicking this link: https://forms.gle/rQGAW7UUsEDR2ckY7
Our Volunteer Coordinator, Jox, will reach out to you within a week of the application being submitted!
NOTE: We do allow individuals under 18 to volunteer, but written and signed parental/guardian permission is required. Certain volunteer opportunities are 18+ only.
Step 2: Complete Your Background Checks
We require three background checks and a mandatory reporting training to be completed before you can begin volunteering. These include:
1) PA Child Abuse History Clearance
2) PA Criminal History Clearance [Alt Link]
3) FBi Finger Printing - NOTE: FBI Fingerprinting is NOT required if you have lived in Pennsylvania for 7+ years. Email Jox for an Identigo fingerprinting code..
4) Mandatory Reporting Training - 2-3 hour class on how to recognize and report the signs of child abuse.
Completed clearances must be submitted to our Event/Volunteer Coordinator, Jox.
NOTICE: The LGBT Center cannot cover any fees associated with background checks.
Step 3: Volunteer Interview
