​Job Title: Counseling Intern

Overview:
The LGBT Center of Greater Reading is a thriving and dynamic organization in Reading, PA.  Our mission is to provide support, advocacy and resources.  We are looking for counseling interns who have a passion for working with underserved communities.  The ideal candidate for the position will be able to work with clients individually and in groups using traditional therapeutic interventions.

Duties:

• Provide individual mental health counseling to clients.

• Facilitate mental health group therapy sessions.

• Conduct BioPsychoSocial interviews, develop treatment plans, and maintain accurate progress notes including therapeutic interventions in treatment.

 

Requirements:

• You must be working toward a Masters in Counseling in an accredited program.

• You must be part of a school internship program and have a field instructor.

• Professional maturity is a must.

• Working knowledge of LGBT language and an understanding of the challenges faced by the community is a plus

• Participation in all training sessions.

• You must be tech savvy (ability to use Electronic Health Record System, Excel, and Word).
