Our Trainings
We offer several different trainings here at the Center! Our courses below are available for any interested organization, and we also do custom trainings for a set fee. See "Fees & Structures" below for further information.
● LGBTQ+ 101: An Introduction to Identities (1 hour)
We encourage all groups seeking training for the first time to participate in LGBTQ+ 101: An Introduction to Identities. This is a foundational training, intended to engage participants in a comprehensive overview of LGBTQ+ terminology and denitions such as sexual orientation and gender identity.
● LGBTQ+ 201: Allyship in Practice (1 hour 30 min)
A follow-up to LGBTQ+ 101: An Introduction to Identities, our LGBTQ+ 201: Allyship in Practice training emphasizes the importance of allyship in real life situations. Through an interactive and discussion-based approach, we examine the impact of social norms and expectations regarding sexuality and gender in our society, challenge assumptions, and explore the ways in which we can be more inclusive and arming to the LGBTQ+ community.
● LGBTQ+ 301: Exploring Gender & Pronouns (2 hours)
Our LGBTQ+ 301: Exploring Gender and Pronouns training provides a more extensive discussion of gender and pronouns to expand understanding of the transgender & non-binary community. We differentiate gender identity, gender expression, and sex assigned at birth, exploring the ways in which they impact one another, and navigate the incorporation and utilization of pronouns, emphasizing the importance of respecting preferred pronouns.
